From Englebert Construction to Roots & Rafters

When I was a kid, my dad had a construction company called Englebert Construction. I grew up knowing him as someone who could look at a house, figure out what needed to be done, and get to work. Building and fixing things were part of our family’s everyday life.

Years later, that experience became the foundation for something we could build together: Roots & Rafters Home Co.

Dad brings decades of hands-on construction experience to our business. He leads the planning, building, repairs, renovations, and problem-solving. I bring the other side of the work: talking with customers, organizing projects, scheduling, estimates, communication, and making sure people know what is happening with their home. I also join in on painting, trim, decorating, and the smaller improvements that help bring a project together.

We started Roots & Rafters because caring for a home often takes more than one kind of help. A homeowner may need a repair, an improvement, cleanup, and a specialty trade involved in the same project. We want to be the people they can call first. We’ll listen, help make a plan, handle the work that fits our experience, and coordinate the right additional professionals when they’re needed.

This business is our way of carrying forward what Dad built while making it our own. It’s a father-and-daughter company rooted in his experience and shaped by the way we want customers to feel: heard, informed, and cared for from the first conversation through the finished project.
